The leaves are evergreen, 6 cm long and 8 mm broad.
The flowers are pale lilac, produced on spikes 5 cm long at the top of slender, leafless stems 50 cm long
Lavender seeds need to be placed inside the refrigerator 3 weeks before ready to sow them.
How to grow:---
* Cold stratification:
Place a wet paper towel on a plate. The towel should be thoroughly wet but drain any excessive water. Spread the seeds apart from one another on top of the paper towel. Insert the plate into a ziplock bag sealing the bag. Place the plate into the refrigerator in a place that will not be disturbed for the next 30 to 40 days. After 30 to 40 days it’s time to start germinating. Take the plate from the refrigerator and place it in a sunny window.
* Lavender soil mix:
1 part perlite, 1 part sand, 1 part potting soil, 1 part compost (optional)
Difference between English Lavender and Spike Lavender:---
* Leaves: English Lavender has narrow leaves and Spike Lavender has broader leaves
* Aroma: English Lavender has sweeter aromo (used to make essential oil) and Spike Lavender has eucalyptus-like aroma (It is used to scent room sprays, deodorants, soaps, disinfectants, insect repellents, and other products, and it complements these products with its purifying characteristics.)
在马来西亚可勉强发芽成长，因为天气不够冷所以不容易开花(根据记录，也有成功的例子)，但是叶子还有香味。请放在明亮处，但需避免阳光直接暴晒。
